Our story

Granite City Aquaria was created by Amy and Terry Jordan after a hobby grew into a passion and we wanted to share our knowledge and passion for bioactive aquariums and enclosures with others. Like most aquarists will say, it started with one aquarium.... That first tank turned into a home fishroom with 105 tanks specializing in breeding guppies, plecos, neocaridina shrimp, corydoras and snails. Amy retired after being a Paramedic for 10 years to become a caregiver to a family member and to work on growing the fish breeding side of Granite City Aquaria. Terry is a retired Army Reserve Veteran after serving his country for 18 years and 3 tours overseas. Together we are focused on building Granite City Aquaria into the place to get the best live plants, hardscape and inhabitants for your enclosure.
